Anniversary in the Backwaters of Kerala
If you have travelled across India particularly to the southern part, you will quickly begin to fall for its climate, it’s coconut trees, the slower paced values and its richness for color. Kerala is a southern state in India that is popularly known as “God’s own country”, for 95% of literacy, national parks, wild-life sanctuaries, its beaches lined with palm and coconut trees and of course it’s backwaters. The famous backwaters of Kerala are so called because of its lagoons and its labyrinth of rivers that meander its way through the state.
This is where my session took place. I was visiting home (New Delhi) in the winter of ‘17 and on my trip attended a wedding of friends that took place in Kerala. A bunch of us friends were staying at the gorgeous Le Méridien which is where the wedding took place.
The morning before the wedding, my friends Celestina and Robin where celebrating their second wedding anniversary and asked me if I could take a couple of pictures of them by the backwaters.
I immediately jumped to it! We had so much fun as you can see. Cel wore a beautiful bright lehenga that stood out perfectly amidst the lush green of the tropics. She matched the bird of paradise flowers so perfectly! I just loved our mini session and can’t wait to go back again!
